Research
Research about the study programmes you wish to pursue; find out about the costs, institutions, location, services/facilities, accreditations, etc. Visit the websites of the institutions that offer the course you want to study. Do your own reading, or get more information by contacting the institution representative and solve your queries (if any).
Before taking a final call, visit the campus to get a sense of the culture and atmosphere and to see whether you would fit in. Talk to professors, students, and alumni and get more information about the concerned institution and course.
Figure out whether the costs of study and living is manageable; the core curriculum fulfill your requirements; the career opportunities available; the location is apt, and other related things.
